- Generate AI-powered content such as job match scores and cover letter drafts.
- Improve our matching algorithms and overall platform experience.
- Communicate with you about your account, subscription, and service updates.
3. Cross-Border Data Transfers
To provide AI-powered matching and cover letter generation, your data — including resume content, skills, preferences, and job descriptions — is transmitted to Anthropic, Inc., a third-party AI service provider based in San Francisco, United States.
This means your personal information may be processed and stored outside of Australia, in a jurisdiction that may have different data protection laws. By using JobHand's AI-powered features, you acknowledge and consent to this cross-border transfer of your data.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy when transferred to third parties. Anthropic processes your data solely for the purpose of providing AI services to JobHand and does not use it for independent purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
We store your data using industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records. Specific retention schedules are as follows: resume files are deleted within 30 days of account deletion; job interaction logs are retained for 12 months; recommendation data is retained for 6 months; generated cover letters are retained for 6 months.

Under applicable Australian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
- Withdraw consent to data processing at any time, noting that this may affect your ability to use certain features.

6. Analytics and Session Recordings
To understand how our platform is used and to improve the product, we use PostHog, a product analytics provider. PostHog collects information about how you interact with JobHand, including pages viewed, buttons clicked, forms submitted, device and browser details, approximate location derived from IP address, and session recordings (anonymised replays of your interactions with the site).
Sensitive inputs such as passwords are automatically masked and are never captured in session recordings. PostHog may process this data in the United States. When you sign in, your account identifier and email address are associated with your analytics events so we can provide personalised support and measure product outcomes. You can request deletion of your analytics data at any time by contacting support@jobhand.com.au.
7. Third-Party Services
JobHand may contain links to third-party websites, including job boards and employer sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of JobHand after the updated policy comes into effect constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
